Wig for Fanime

Okay, quick memo for today. My costume is 90% complete. My mom finished the big part of the costume which is the blazer pants, and inside shirt. All I have left is my hair and to paint my brooch. Other than this, I am ready for Fanime!
Although there are a few things that I still have to take care of. One of them being the application of makeup. I honestly do not know how to apply makeup, but I don’t think its that hard. My concern is really the part of making it blend. I think I will try it on Thursday to see how it turns out. Brianne has been recommending me to use Goth makeup. I am a little hesitant on doing this.
I’m hoping they are not going to change the dance music to hip hop…if they do, dude that’ll kill it for me. There are a lot of people requesting hip hop and old school stuff. Luckily this happens every year and it never happens. Hopefully it stays the same way. Unlike last year, I don’t think I’ll be ordering glow sticks. It was major overkill. I was definitely not in the mood and could not catch the vibe of the dance. Dancing wasn’t as much fun as I thought it would be.
Hopefully this year it’ll be different. Like I mentioned to a few people…I’m going to start assembling my glove for ‘gloving’. I haven’t done it since 2002. Hopefully I still have the moves. =)
Yesterday evening I found out that there is a very high possibility that me getting custom made contact lenses is not going to happen. Apparently I have to get fitted for a specific brand of contacts, not just any brand. I should have known this but I guess I was too ignorant at the time. I have too many things to focus on right now and can’t concentrate on this matter at the moment.
All I have to say is that it is such a bummer to have plans fail. Now that it is almost Fanime, I feel that it is near impossible to get things done the way I want. I was really looking foward to purchasing my theatrical lenses, but I guess not. =( That will be $260 I’ll save.
OMG…
I don’t think you guys would like DMC, but I think I’m going to download it again. This video seriously made me LOL and remembered the time when I tried to watch the anime and didn’t like it. I think I will try again. The main guy is the same guy that does the Death the Kid Cosplay that I posted earlier.
Since a lot of the making of my costume is out of my hands, the progress of the costume has gotten no where. I think most of it has to do with not having enough funds at the moment to fabricate the costume. I still have to pick out the fabric for my mom to use. Supposedly she said that black wool is hard to get. So I think I might just get something cheap or something more available.
I still need my contacts, which I’ll be ordering at the end of this month, and my hair done. Also the brooch and the ring to complete the cosplay. I guess I can say that I still need a lot of stuff. I want to make the guns for my costume but the Fanime Weapon’s policy makes it kind of hard to find out how to make it look fake.
Oh well…
Dude…I must do better!
Okay, so I am a little bit concerned that I might not be able to pull off Death the Kid as well as these folks in, I think Thailand. Seriously major props to them for being able to hold the character’s persona. All I can say is, this is the best I’ve seen so far. Too bad KC won’t be able to lift me. =\
