When I first got my Voyager back in…the day it was released, my phone had firmware version 3. There were a lot problems that I have experienced with that phone. One of them being the music player.
The music player was ghey because I could not resume the playing position. I listen to Techno, Trance, Dance, etc. A lot of them being mixes which means that the tracks I have on my phone can be an hour or greater. So I am twenty five minutes into the song, and then I get a call. After the call, I can resume my music, cool. However when I need to close the application then re-launch it later, I can’t resume where I left off. WTF is up with that? What makes it worse is, when I fast forward the song to where I ‘think’ I left off, the phone would freeze (OMFG).
Alright, that was one of the problems. Actually a lot of the issues I had on my phone has a lot to do with the unit freezing, or restarting. (Am I too fast for my phone?) The next BIG issue was the screen. The Voyager has two screens, internal and external. I like to text using the full QWERTY keyboard, which results in me using the internal screen. After I am done, I close the phone and the external screen goes crazy with lines running down the screen vertically (Sometimes the back light does not turn on). Its looked like one of Picasso’s paintings. And this happened 80% of the time when I close my phone.
I went on using the phone like this for about five months until I decided to ask a Verizon rep about it. He went ahead and ordered me a replacement (notice I did not mention new -_-). In the mean time, I happened to stumble across forums that mentioned new features of the latest firmware (version 9). With a little bit more of research, I realized that I could not flash my phone on my own. To flash my phone I had to bring it to a Verizon store. Which I did.
After 45 minutes my phone was new. First thing I noticed was that my theme had changed, more colors. Unfortunately the black and white theme is gone. Also, the screen issue was gone. Fixed by a firmware update, this surprised me a lot. I was amazed at how different the voyager had felt. It was faster, cleaner, and no more retarded screen.
Then I got my replacement. Nothing was different, every part of this replacement was pretty much the same minus the scratches from the old one. Although, even with the latest firmware the music player still is retarded. When I fast forward songs, it still hangs then restarts. Very annoying. At least no screen issue right? Well there is something worse that I discovered lately, besides my phone battery no longer holding a charge.
The replacement is obviously not perfect being extremely retarded. As of the late, it has been freezing, restarting on its own, and has gotten stuck vibrating. YES, thats right, it was vibrating for the longest time until I turned it off. After it restarts and goes past the splash screen, the phone was stuck.
DUDE!!! what do I do? I seriously don’t want a replacement, I rather get a newer phone. =( Or at least the option to.
