Brianne is making me take the day off because I have to attend her co-worker’s wedding. This means that I have worked 4 hours out of the work week (I get less hours as it is). -_-Honestly, I don’t know these people. I am happy for them, however it is kinda awkward for me. Is it normal to attend someones wedding when you don’t know them?

K, I guess I get ready? Someone post Youtube video that you don’t think I’ve watched. Thanks.

[Update]

On my way out to throw out garbage, I saw a june bug on our screen door. They are probably my favorite beetles and one of my favorite insects.

Flashy Friday…

Guess what? I adopted a Goby yesterday. Pacing around the aquarium section of Pet Smart I spotted an unusual looking fish inside the “No individual selection” tank. I couldn’t leave it alone in the the feeder tank because of how sad it looked (Yes, it looked sad). It probably didnt feed properly since there were a lot of goldfish inside the tank. After ten minutes of looking at it, the Pet Smart guy asked if I needed any help and I pointed to the fish. High chances he thought I was crazy for wanting to choose a specific fish. However, I explained that it was Goby and was distinct from the rest of the fish. I told him that if he couldn’t get it in two tries, then it was okay. He netted it in his first try and now I have a new fish for my tank. =)

In addition, the house is lively again. -_- My neices’ oldest sister is down for the week. I now realised that Sirena isnt the loudest and that she isn’t a bad singer. It is unfortunate when what you have anticipated does not occur or what you believed to have changed doesn’t. Meh…I should know better.

Noir Betta

After returning from a three day trip, I realized that our goldfish Royale had its fins nipped by our Bichir. It was very sad to see Royale looking like a normal dual-tailed goldfish. The only solution was to isolate the goldfish from King (the Bichir). There was two ways that came to mind, give it away, or euthanize it. Since killing it was strongly opposed by my companion, I had to give it away.

After dropping of King to the pet store (which they took without any hesitation), it became clear that I should update my own fish tank. I am thinking about turning it into a ‘zen‘ aquarium. In order for you to understand what I am looking forward to do, I need to first tell you the dimensions of the tank. Uhm…I know that it is a half gallon tank. Yes, it is a small tank.

Next thing is getting a plant. I only want one since my last experiments of have multiple plants always ended up dead and rotting in the tank. I don’t have enough light in our room to keep them alive. My idea was to have it centered in the aquarium. I was going to use a small glass cup to contain the plant with black gravel as the medium. After this is to find a good backdrop for the tank.

I was considering fabricating my own background for the aquarium. As for the design, I don’t want to get a pre-made one like the backdrops found in the pet store. I was actually thinking of the seal on Naruto. I’ll probably have it scaled and printed then trace it with a gel pen.

Naruto Tattoo

Then there is the fish. I want a black Betta, but apparently none exist. They are either purple or really dark red. The strands that have appealed to me are the half-moons and the crown tails. Lighting is also going to be important. Since typical aquarium lighting produces heat (not good in the summer), I was actually on a pursuit to find LED lighting yesterday. The ones in the pet stores were quite pricey. The reading lamps at office depot was about half the price. However the aquarium LED lights actually are submersible so I might just get those.

I will post up pics assuming that I get all the necessary materials. =)

The Gathering…

A while back when we still had the ‘bobatea’ forums up, I had this idea of maping out hotspots in visalia. Utilizing my DeLorme GPS receiver and Netstumbler I could drive by wireless networks and map them accordingly. Obviously I didnt really get far with that because none of my peers seemed interested in it. Here is the experiment that I tried myself.

Where am I going with this? Well yesterday while I was looking up job descriptions, I was thinking about how other cities have all kinds of cool stuff and we don’t. Unsurprisingly people who live in Visalia always say something that sounds like this, “Visalia sucks” or “Visalia is gay”. Well honestly I believe that it only sucks because its not really developed like those big cities. Those people who say that this city is crap is because they are too lazy to do anything about it, and rather live in a place that is already set up. How does a city develop?

My idea is (this is where I fail) to gather those very talented people in Visalia to make something big happen. I can already hear Simon telling me “good luck have fun”…well you know what? I think this is a good idea. Just like I have told a lot of people, I want to be freaking Hokage of Visalia.

Reality bites…

I have realized why numerous people out there abandon their blogs. Majority of these bloggers are just busy and maybe a few of them are tired. Just like these indivduals who maitain these blogs I, myself am tired. I am reflecting how I feel at the moment. There is something obviously bothering me. Perhaps its just that I feel overwhelmed. After coming back from Fanime, I just felt like there were so many things that I have to take care of. School, work, bills, … the list keeps going.

Now that I have established that, I’m not going to let that mood stop me from blogging. I know that having a postive outlook on whatever the situation is will benefit me in a lot of ways. Additionally I understand that writing down things help me develop and see the bigger picture of my current position. Now to continue my day… :)

btw, I am saving for a digital camera. My objective by the end of the summer is to have enough to buy a decent digital camera. After using the S700 my manager let me borrow, I feel that it is time I finally upgrade from my old 2mp camera.

More pics have been added. Click on the ‘Fanime 2008′ under pages. All three days have been added. You can always google ‘Fanime 2008′ and get lots of results. We were too occupied with cosplaying and looking around the convention to randomly ask cosplayers for pictures. Athough, I wish I did take more pictures, but like I mentioned, we were really busy.

This guy has taken a lot of pics of cosplayers at fanime.
